Kyun chalti hai pawan, kyun jhoome hai gagan,
Kyun machalta hai mann, na tum jaano na hum
Kyun aati hai bahaar, kyun lutatta hai karaar,
Kyun hota hai pyaar, na tum jaano na hum..
Yeh madhoshiyan, yeh tanhaiyan, tasaboor mein hai kis ki parchaiyan
Yeh bheega sama, umange jawan, mujhe ishq le ja raha hai kahan,
Kyun gum hai har disha, kyun hota hai nasha,
Kyun aata hai mazaa, na tum jaano na hum
Dhadakta bhi hai, tadapta bhi hai,
Yeh dil kyun achanak behakta bhi hai,
Mehekta bhi hai, chehekta bhi hai,
Yeh dil kya wafa ko samajhta bhi hai
Kyun milti hai nazar, kyun hota hai asar,
Kyun hoti hai saher, na tum jaano na hum
Kyun chalti hai pawan, kyun jhoome hai gagan,
Kyun machalta hai mann, na tum jaano na humLots of questions!...about this ‘thing’ called "love" and the only answer for all of the richness of feelings and emotions that this song attempts to portray, seems to be simply... "na tum jaano na hum"
- Is that really a satisfactory final answer?
- Does it ever bother you that there might be more to this "love" than what we seem to be able to grasp and understand?
- Do these incredibly beautiful 'realities' of love and attraction between a man and a woman have any meaning or consequence, 'beyond' what we experience?
According to the scriptures this inexplicable "love & attraction" is merely an earthly representation, symbol or an analogy of God's love towards His bride. A bride ? Yes, again according to the scriptures she is a representation of all the people that have trusted Him and accepted Him as their creator and savior.
Hey..If you are wondering why I keep quoting from 'the scriptures' as the 'basis' and the 'truth' Click here to see the reasoning.
The love being referred to here is the love between a man and a woman. There are other forms of love, love between a parent and a child, brotherly love, friendly love, etc that the scripture has some rich descriptions about.
Here's the reference: Ephesians 5:31-33 (CEV) 31 As the Scriptures say, "A man leaves his father and mother to get married, and he becomes like one person with his wife." 32 This is a great mystery, but I understand it to mean Christ and his church. 33 So each husband should love his wife as much as he loves himself, and each wife should respect her husband.

..A beautiful song! (one of my favorites’)…truly ‘captures’ at least a part this mystery and definitely more meaningful if you understand the divine concept behind it. Believe me I never looked at it this way ..years ago when I first saw this video :o)
So, what changed?... A: finding some consistent, logically sound and most of all..'satisfactory' answers to some of the 'questions of life' that I had, even as a child...finding some thing real! for this insatiable hunger and pursuit of 'the truth'.. we all seem to have been born with...
Does it really matter to know?... A: It does.. because there exist 'answers out there'...truths that will drastically change the way you look at your life and bring genuine contentment & true satisfaction to your life...
I am well aware of the fact that, for the most of you reading this post.. the above concept might seem 'absurd', 'unrealistic', 'distant' or 'irrelevant' in our daily lives... but have you every tried to understand the meaning or significance of the other 'known facts' and ask yourself the questions like..
1.What is the meaning of this life ? 2. Why is there evil in this world? 2. How can we know God exists? or about more physical things like... 4. How can we be certain that the sun will come up tomorrow? 5. How come no other planets in our solar system seem to have any life forms (not even at a microscopic level) while on the other hand our planet seems to be incredibly 'crammed' with 'life' down to the microscopic level? 6. Its a known scientific fact that our earth is simply a 'speck of dust' in comparison to the grand scale of the current 'known universe', so does it have any significance in this universe?..if yes what is it?
There is more to life than simply 'surviving'.. I hope you start looking for answers to some of these questions...because if/when you do find those answers, the 'true meaning' of "love" and other such fundamentals of life will come into a sharp focus too!
More scriptural references to love (in general).
Faith, Hope and Love. But the greatest of these three is love.
1 Cor 13
What if I could speak all languages of humans and of angels? If I did not love others, I would be nothing more than a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
What if I could prophesy and understand all secrets and all knowledge? And what if I had faith that moved mountains? I would be nothing, unless I loved others.
What if I gave away all that I owned and let myself be burned alive? I would gain nothing, unless I loved others.
Love is kind and patient, never jealous, boastful, proud, or rude.
Love isn't selfish or quick tempered. It doesn't keep a record of wrongs that others do.
Love rejoices in the truth, but not in evil.
Love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful, and trusting.
Love never fails!
Everyone who prophesies will stop, and unknown languages will no longer be spoken. All that we know will be forgotten.
We don't know everything, and our prophecies are not complete. But what is perfect will someday appear, and what isn't perfect will then disappear.
When we were children, we thought and reasoned as children do. But when we grew up, we quit our childish ways.
Now all we can see of God is like a cloudy picture in a mirror. Later we will see him face to face. We don't know everything, but then we will, just as God completely understands us.
For now there are faith, hope, and love. But of these three, the greatest is love.
Finally, Here are a few other of my fav.videos (mostly from 80s & 90s) with the same theme love.form: between a man and a woman. The point being, this is just 'one form' of this incredible reality.
